THE HARBORNE £5M GIFT
The personal £5 million gift from British crypto investor Christopher Harborne to Nigel Farage in early 2024 — initially framed as lifelong security funding, later described as a 'reward for Brexit campaigning' — and its non-declaration on the MPs' Register of Interests, which triggered scrutiny from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and reported Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency.
THE COTTRELL DONATIONS

FERRARI / IDDE BRUSSELS
The Brussels fraud investigation into the ADDE and IDDE organisations — Eurosceptic entities that received close to €2m in EU funding and were run day-to-day by Laure Ferrari. An OLAF probe led to a November 2025 Brussels court conviction of two individuals for money laundering, breach of trust and forgery; Ferrari's case was dismissed at the procedural stage.
NATHAN GILL BRIBERY
The conviction of Nathan Gill — former UKIP/Brexit Party MEP and former Reform UK leader in Wales — for accepting around £40,000 in bribes to make pro-Russian statements, table motions and facilitate media access while an MEP. The payments were linked to pro-Russian politician Oleg Voloshyn, acting on behalf of Viktor Medvedchuk, a close associate of Vladimir Putin. Gill pleaded guilty to eight counts of bribery and was sentenced in November 2025 to 10½ years in prison.
